Green Revolution

The Green Revolution refers to a series of agricultural advancements in the 1960s that significantly increased food production globally. It involved the adoption of high-yielding crop varieties, modern farming techniques, and increased use of fertilizers and pesticides. Led by scientists like Norman Borlaug, the Green Revolution helped alleviate food shortages and famine in many developing countries by boosting crop yields. While it led to increased agricultural productivity and improved food security, critics argue that it also had negative environmental impacts such as soil degradation, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity.
